TWS FitZone Welcome

TWS FitZone opened its doors on the 9th December 2013. This has been an ambition for the team especially over the last 18 months.  With the support of all of our existing members and the recruitment of some new faces within that time that part of the dream has come true. Now the Journey begins, and we would like to thank all of you that have trained with us over the past few years or even the last few months, giving us the opportunity to hopefully create an environment that people want to come and train in a fun enjoyable way. As we always intended the TWS Fitzone will have the whole holistic approach of Mind, Body and Nutrition and give everyone that comes through the doors the best chance possible to achieve their personal goals, be it training, nutritional or their own personal individual goal.

We would really like to help many others like we have hopefully achieved with yourselves so please remember to pass out TWS FitZone details and like our social media sites to stay updated with all our latest information and offers.

A New Year a New You!

You’ve probably heard countless claims from magazines and TV adverts about kick starting your new year with a new diet or a never before seen workout program.

Well why not finally try something that has been working for people throughout the whole year and not just the first month!

What to eat before you work out

You don’t want to work out on either a full or empty stomach so have a snack (200 to 300 calories) containing both carbs and protein before heading to the gym. Try a pot of yoghurt with a small banana and a few nuts or some hummus and whole grain crackers. Your muscles will use up the carbs while you train and the protein will help repair muscle damage and fuel new growth

Exercising on an empty or full stomach is not a good idea. If you are running on empty you have more chance of not being able to put maximum effort into your workout and may feel weak and even dizzy, as blood sugar levels are low. Working out after a big meal can hinder your exercise efforts as it can cause discomfort. Either wait at least 2 hours after a main meal before you hit the gym or if you choose to eat after your workout then eat a carbohydrate-rich snack before heading to the gym to keep you going.

"We Challenge You to Challenge You!

FitZone Monthly Challenge

This month’s challenge involves you trying to get to the gym at least three times a week!

Sounds simple doesn’t it? But we have also written a program for you to follow whilst you’re at the gym.

The program is as followed

  • 20 kettlebell swings
  • 20 Core Bag Clean and Press
  • 20 TRX Squats
  • 20 Squat Thrusts
  • 20 Medicine ball twists

Repeat this five times with no rest period.

If you want to ask a member of the team to time your challenge.

If you find yourself getting bored of the same workout why not speak to a Fit Coach to book a session and change things up.

Please be aware that Classes are becoming more popular and we advise booking using our online booking system to guarantee your space. If you do come and the class is full you may be asked to complete your own workout in the Functional Zone.
